Twelve Oaks Vineyard Celebrates 10 Years of Exceptional Winemaking

March 31, 2025

Twelve Oaks Vineyard, a cornerstone of Southern Illinois’ wine community, humbly celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Founded in 2015 by Doug and Jodi Palm, this family-owned winery has grown from a heartfelt vision into an award-winning destination, renowned for its quality wines, friendly atmosphere, and beautiful country setting.

Over the past decade, Twelve Oaks Vineyard has produced award-winning wines, earning top accolades such as the 2019 Governor’s Cup for Hummingbird Dance, 2020 Governor’s Cup for Chambourcin Rosé, 2021 Governor’s Cup for Cayuga White, 2022 Vintner of the Year to Doug Palm, 2023 Governor’s Cup Best of Show for Vignoles, 2023 Governor’s Cup for Chambourcin Classic, and 2024 Experience Rosé International Rosé Competition Double Gold in California for Chambourcin Rosé.

Nestled in charming Clinton Country with the estate vineyard near Carlyle Lake, the grapes are hand-harvested, processed, and produced into wine on site, crafting wines that capture the unique character of the region’s soil and climate. When the winery opened, wines were handcrafted with grapes from the estate vineyard. After a couple of years due to selling out of wine, Twelve Oaks Vineyard began purchasing grapes from the amazing vineyards of Red Cedar Vineyard with Greg and Donna Walters, Wilke Vineyard with Mike and Laura Wilke, and Chambourcin Vineyards. Commitment to excellence in winemaking as well as customer care has made Twelve Oaks Vineyard a favorite destination place for friends and family to gather.

“We give all thanks to God for the blessings that he has given to us with the vineyard, winery, and especially the wonderful people who support us,” said Doug Palm, co-owner and Winemaker. “Jodi and I started this to share our love of wine with our community, and their support has carried us this far. This anniversary is about them as much as it’s about us.”

Looking ahead, Twelve Oaks Vineyard will continue to focus on award-winning wine and delivering a beautiful country landscape for family, friends, and new visitors to enjoy. Doug has some new wines to share in 2025. “We’re excited about this year,” Doug Palm added. “The next decade will bring even more to love about Twelve Oaks Vineyard!”
